What are refurbished phones?

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

Buying a refurbished phone is a fantastic way to get hold of the handset you want, at a reduced price. Many are unaware of what a refurbished phone is, or how much money they can save through choosing one. So let’s make it easy for you and answer a few questions.

What is a refurbished phone?

Refurbished phones have been returned to us by customers who bought them and then returned them under our 7 day money back guarantee. All refurbished phones are fully inspected, tested and repackaged by our qualified engineers and come with a full 12 month warranty.

How is a refurbished phone different?

A refurbished phone will always come in a different box to the original but the box will always include the handset, battery, charger and manual. We can’t guarantee that any other accessories will always be included. There is a small chance that there may be slight cosmetic flaws to a refurbished phone or its box but these will not affect the phones performance in any way.

What if a refurbished phone is out of stock?

Due to the nature of refurbished phones we can’t guarantee when particular models will become available again once they are out of stock. If the deal you order is out of stock we will do our best to get hold of a phone for you.

So there we have it, a simple explanation of what a refurbished mobile phone is and how purchasing one can save you money today!

Phone Dilemma's. Don't let them happen to you

The progression of the mobile phone has given us so much to look forward to. Keeping in touch with friends and family across the world is so easy and convenient.  Can it be too easy though? Make sure you don’t fall into the trap of one of our mobile dilemmas.

DON’T : Text the wrong Person

This can be highly embarrassing. Texting allows you to send very personal messages to specific friend circles. Texting is so easy, you can write and send your thoughts without even thinking. Red lights and warning sirens should be flashing in your head now.  A message for your girlfriend about “cuddles on the sofa watching Strictly” may just push your lad status off a cliff if it’s read by your best mates. Likewise accidently revealing to your mum about your alcohol fuelled streaking antics, could prove to be an interesting topic over Sunday Dinner.

Tip: Take a moment or two just to check who you’re sending the message to.

DON’T : Run out of battery

Smartphones are multifunctional devices. Who needs a map when you’ve got inbuilt GPS? Who needs their debit card on them with NFC features? Our smartphones are great for holding all this information and removes the need for us to carry the extra baggage and clutter around with us. Not so great if you happen to run out of battery. Imagine trying to drive through a city centre without the aid of a map, or paying for a meal when you’ve forgotten your wallet. Too much reliance on your smartphone could lead you into an awkward situation should your smartphone let you down.

Tip: Make sure your phone is charged before leaving the house on an important trip where you need your phone for important features other than calls. Alternatively, taking  a car charger can be a helpful backup should your smartphone battery go flat.

DON’T: Mix with Alcohol

The countless times I’ve seen students light up their smartphones in nightclubs in order to send “Where are you?” texts or to attempt to get the number of a fitty that captures their eye. When mixing your mobile with alcohol, the problem is that we humans can get clumsy and drop our phone. After losing sight of our cherished device, friends try to help by offering their displays as a flashlight for the search party, but alas it’s too late. A pretty smartphone like yours would soon be prized upon by an equally drunk opportunist.  A night like this can only end in tears.

Tip: If your friends regard you as a notorious drunkard, buy a cheap PAYG handset for nights out. It’s easier to replace a £20 handset than a premium £500 smartphone.

We realise we may be sounding like a nagging mother who moans at you to always wrap up warm or don’t get home too late. The truth is we’re just trying to look out for you. Working with phones, we hear about these stories more often than we’ld like to. As our dependence on smartphones continues to increase, we feel users just need to take that little extra care and thought, so you’ve always got access to your phone when you need it most. Be smart with your smartphone.
