NewsOrange launches HD Voice serviceThe very popular mobile phone network Orange has announced they will be launching a new high-quality audio in 2010, which will be compatible with HD Voice mobile phones.
Orange is the very first mobile phone network to announce the launch of the new HD Voice this year. In true network fashion, I’m sure O2, Vodafone and the other networks will soon follow. Orange now have a very important advantage, the service will be made available to HD Voice enabled mobile phones. Reports say Orange is currently working with various manufacturers so they can develop mobile phone which will be sold throughout this year. Tom Alexander the UK chief executive at Orange said: "Orange is proud to be leading the industry into the next decade by announcing a new standard in voice innovation that will transform the mobile experience for customers in the UK. "HD Voice really does inject a level of innovation into mobile phone calls, making it sound as if callers are actually in the same room. Once people have tried it, they won't want to go back." This new service works by using the WB-AMR (Wideband Adaptive Multi-Rate) speech codec, which will give customers better quality audio within a wider speech bandwidth.
